HRPS News & Updates

Dear HRPS Members,

'Tis the season for holiday celebrations, gatherings with friends, putting up decorations, winterizing lawns and gardens, tending hearth and home.

If you are older, or have older family members, you might be interested in a City of Reno program called the Older Adults Home Modification Program, a partnership with Rebuilding Together Northern Nevada, designed to help seniors age in place safely and independently.

There is no speaker program this month, but we'll be back on the second Sunday in January, February, March, and April with great speakers and historical topics to enrich your knowledge of our community.  Look for details in the winter edition of FootPrints, which will be out at the end of the year.

As a reminder, if your membership renewal is due this month, be sure to get your payment in by December 25th, before new membership rates go into effect.  Watch your in box for your renewal notice.  You don't want to miss your issue of FootPrints!

To wrap up the year, we've combed the archives for a vintage FootPrints issue we think you'll enjoy, and a handful of vintage holiday ads to wish you a Merry Christmas and the very best for the season.  See you in January!

The Winter 2005 edition of FootPrints features articles on the Bethel AME church by Mella Harmon, and the Federated Church by Linda Sievers, a bio sketch of local architect Edward Parsons, reflections on teaching in Frandsen Hall by Dr. Ann Howard, and the 2004 Preservation Award winning home.  Enjoy!
