Special Edition - June 2024

HRPS News & Updates

Dear HRPS Members,

I am traveling the next few weeks so am sending out a special edition of our monthly newsletter.  Regular publication will resume in August.

Our Walking Tours are in full swing, and all but two remaining walks have reached their limit - Literary Reno on July 20, and our Park History by Bike tour on July 28.  You can register for those walks here - Walking Tours (historicreno.org)

If you've registered for a walk that is full and are waitlisted, we encourage you to show up for the walk anyway.  Though we encourage people to cancel if they can't make it, there are always a few no-shows, and we can often get you in.  Worth a try!

Meanwhile, we encourage you to get out and enjoy the many activities our community has to offer this time of year such as:

And of course, Artown!  HRPS is a part of the 24th annual Artown summer arts festival in Reno, Nevada.  Artown consists of over 500 events throughout the region during the entire month of July. Artown is one of the primary ways visitors and newcomers to Reno find out about our walks.

Big thanks to Deb Hinman and Brett Banks, our Walking tour co-chairs this year, along with outstanding support from our administrator, Amy Burton.  If you've been on one of our walks, you've seen Amy's cheerful smile.  Big thanks also to our Tour Guides and those who help man the registration desk and serve as caboose on the tours.  All are volunteers who donate their time.  If you're registered for an upcoming walk, be sure to say, "Thank you!".

See you in August!
